Ordering
The Model 228 and Model 1229 are modern takes on a great,
arguably the greatest, solid body design. Every guitar is
made with the highest quality woods, metal and paint.
Model 228 bodies are generally swamp ash or alder. One
piece bodies are sometimes available. Necks are all
one-piece maple and are generally semi-quartersawn or
quartersawn.
Model 1229 bodies and necks are mahogany.
Rosewood fretboards are available for all guitars at no
extra cost.
All paint is nitrocellulose lacquer. For the truest vintage
tone, no vinyl/plastic filling or undercoats are applied.
Hardware is the highest quality available - whatever you
want, and whatever the particular build needs.
- Hahn bridges, control plates and neck plates are all
stainless steel and electropolished.
- Hahn knobs are heavy knurl brass, and are chromed as
well. Featherweight aluminum knobs are also available.
Flat- or dome-top.
- Hahn compensated brass saddles have a warm, clear tone
and intonate perfectly.
Pickups are from any manufacturer of your choice. I
generally work with pickups by Fralin, Duncan, Lollar and
Voodoo. But, like with hardware choices, the pickups need
to fit your amp, effects and most of all your playing style
and sonic goals.
Nut: bone.
Tuners: Gotoh/Kluson.
Finally, every Hahn Model 228 is built entirely by me. Each
edge is sanded, screw is screwed and drop of paint is
applied by me. I cut every nut and setup each guitar. Every
guitar has a plan before it's built, but each one must be
sound and play-tested for days, if not a week or two,
before it is considered "finished." Playability and sound
are, after all, the ultimate tests of any guitar, boutique
or otherwise.
I hope to get a chance to build one for you.

Satisfaction Guarantee.
Finally, all guitars come with a full "satisfaction"
guarantee -- that is, if you don't love the guitar you can
send it back for a full refund. You have 48 hours to check
out the guitar. I only ask that, as a matter of good will,
the guitar be played only for the purpose of evaluation
during this period (i.e. no gigs!). Of course, if the
guitar incurs any damage, I reserve the right to either not
accept the guitar back, or charge a repair and restocking
fee as is required given the specific damage. Be careful
with it during this checking out period! If you do send the
guitar back, you will have to pay the return shipping, but
Hahn Guitars will still cover the original standard
shipping out to you.
